Let nova is going on rr on Saturday what power should I be hoping for or expecting from the wheels ?
f20 box
wossner pistons
eds phase 2
Isuzu intercooler
top hat
think everthing else is standard just a
rough idea would be good :)
260 isn't phase 2 I believe

Would be well happy with that :thumb:
Slightly over stock if running standard boost 210 id say.

Pub figures, 300 lol

Does it really matter? lol as long as you are happy with the car's peformance then figures are pretty irrelevant

when I get to pub i may add a couple more numbers on  lol
very happy with performance and will be nice to have an idea of what it's running , so I'm looking at somewhere between 210-260 tops, any less = room to improve
Any more = pub talk
hope to start improving the handling next
then paint in October ish
maybe then I can say it's Finished ( if they ever are )

What is the point of this thread if you're going to RR it on Saturday?
Maddukeman

Going with no clue, Iv only heard of 300+ nova lets, just wondered what a more standard one would make and I now no if it's 160 then maybe something not right

it will be quite clear on Saturday whether something is or is not right, unless the dyno operator is a complete balloon.

People moan this site is quiet, then moan when people post because they don't see the point.

They let me down massively several times about ten years ago with an engine build.
There rolling road is very old and mainly used for tuning rather than power figures, unless they've changed it that is. It even has an old rev style clock "non digital" so you can see the power clearly lol

I put my let nova on the rollers last year as I wanted to have the fuelling checked as the ecu had a different chip set in it and they were only hand written top and bottom , mine is standard c20let engine with frontera intercooler and a custom stainless 2.5" exhaust and that gave 245bhp and 237bhp at the wheels

Cheers for the info

Well didn't expect that , a poor 160, he says turbo not really doing anything, there's no fuel getting in after 3k:cry:
Really:-o that's bellow standard!!!
i'd scrap it if I was you

Lol have you changed injectors and fpr?
Maddukeman
26-03-16, 12:23 PM
No, he seems to think that the chips arnt setup right, he seen cream Injectors make good power with the right map, if I had the brass I'd take it to get done, will have to get some prices , may just run standard chips and take it back to rollers, or get some off eBay but they will prob need a setup anyway
look on the bright side once its set up right you will probably gain 100 horses, man it will rip ya arms off lol

:thumb:, hard to imagine 260, there is plenty of power at 160

sounds like the vacuum pipe is missing from the FPR and its not referencing manifold pressure
I bought and used Saab reds crushed the fpr a little for more fuel haha, do have a 2wd cossie fpr yet to fit thou
mines phase 2 never rolling roaded thou but you can tell the powers there, mine a beardy copy's,
They don't need mapping just plug and play I thought. Did you put them in the right way ? Sure Ecu wouldn't work if they where the wrong way round
Maddukeman
26-03-16, 12:51 PM
Yer , he did give the vac pipe a good looking at but couldn't see and cracks or leaks
Bin the chips and it will make better power.

It was always going to be optimistic expecting it to make good power. I'd been following this thread for a while.

Iv put standard chips back in , ordered a fpr adaptor so will get that fitted and run 3bar, the one thats in could be an xe one, there's no stamp on it to say what bar it is, seen some that say 3bar, 2.5bar
meritlover
26-03-16, 03:52 PM
what did he say or show you when he did the runs? did he show AFR on the plot or was it just a limp curve?
Maddukeman
26-03-16, 03:58 PM
Not really shore bud, not that clued up on this, stuck his probe in the exhaust and was showing me a digital machine that he said shows that fuel was fine on low revs and tickover, but as soon as boost came on there was bearly any fuel and he looked quite shocked

the ECU cant compensate for some random injectors and an uncalibrated crush of fuel pressure though.

Running cream and standard chips, is 3bar right and if I put to 3.5 be to much ?

Iv fitted a ajustable fpr just waiting on rail adaptor, will the return Union need blanking as the adaptor has an outlet on it ? ( tx )
also looking at getting new chips and different injectors if needed, are the vmax stage 3 one's OK on yellows ?
