seeing as its only any good for carbs anyway unless your building some t40 super high revving beast it should suffice to pretty much all aplications

Im in the process of building a C16SE on twin 40s and will be using a facet pump because my last nova that had 40s on was my daily car for pleasure and work (yes cost me a fortune to run).In 6 months i went through 2 mechanical pumps, they just stoped working and i could only put this down to them not been up to the job, like i said it was my every day car and did high miles.

Mechanical is fine on my Sport (got a pressure regulator) inline

I kept the mechanical pump on my old Sr 1.4 bike carb setup with a few engine mods which was pushing 130bhp.

I think Ben (boffer8) is still on a mech pump on his bonkers 1400 8v loon. So you should be fine. That said, i'm going for a dual facet setup on mine for reliability and redundancy

Jim's 1650 8V with BP300 cam ran a standard (NEW) mech pump and he made circa 150bhp and ran to about 7.5k iirc
