measure what andy ?? this is abit of a learning curve for me please bear with me
You need to measure the crank journals to check if they are either ovalled or undersize.
If you're replacing big ends due to noise or excessive wear, then there's a chance they'll have damaged the crank.
Also need to check crank condition for scoring as well as size.

cheers ian..
there is no noise or anything its just the oil light flickered on for a small period of time yesterday.
i just did a quick google search and thats what it come up say maybe big end excessive wear damage.
it could be a faulty oil censer or a loose wire i was just looking at the worst case scenario
I would explore everything else first. Get a calibrated oil pressure gauge on it and see exactly what the pressures are, cold and hot and when under load.

I'm going to get my hands on a oil pressure tester see what it reads anyone no the correct pressure on the x16xe ?
If the light's been on it should be obvious if there's a problem, the light will switch very low, imagine 1-5psi. I've read a rule of thumb is min 10psi for every 1000rpm.
If the light came on mid corner it may be oil surge, not sure if these engines suffer from that.

Tested it today reads 4 bar or just under when cold and at temp around 2.0-1.9 bar
reads just over 4bar when reved up (under load)
does this seem Normal for a x16xe ??
I wouldn't get concerned over that. So it's either an oil surge/starvation problem or a wiring/switch issue.
