So im doing some work in the engine bay, fitting strengthening kits, stitch welding etc and thought when i paint it i might do the bay a different colour from the car...
What do people think? too drift car?

really depends on the look your going for, I prefer a body coloured bay though, unless your going for a colour scheme and the bay is painted the second colour and hoses are body colour?

Bloke near me has a lovely matalic red engine bay on his black dc2 all smoothed and tucked so that gets my vote
It works with the right car, usualy a bright colour or have seen one nova with a grey bay/interior that didnt seem too bad

You haven't got any pics by any chance have you? I was thinking grey for the fact it would be a bit more subtle than red but would match my bumpers and side skirts...
I find body colour looks best. Anything else just makes it look like you've had a cheap respray lol
Assuming it's a show car or whatnot. If its a track car (or, like on mine where I just didn't care as long as it wasn't rusty lol) hammerite it black!

Actually better to paint the engine bay/interior of track/rally cars white, not black why? Cos any chassis defects (cracks/splits), or leaks etc can be seen soooo much easier.
True this may look a bit naff on a road car and a definite no no on a show car, unless of course the car is white then, result..lol

Body colour or it looks shit
Grey gets my vote together with the interior, proper BTCC style. Easier to change car colour in the future also.
But depends on what the rest of the car's going to look like, I think it needs a grey stripped interior too to pull it off.

Ok now you have me thinking :tard: if i spray the interior to match the engine bay do I spray the roll cage the same colour or have that contrasting like i currently have it

I like different coloured engine bays. But voted body colour.
If the car was red black engine bay would look good, but going red engine bay on a black car would look horrid.
I also think a grey would look out of place like it wasn't covered enough in black paint

I voted red. Doing some red trim on the interior would be nice too, to kinda even it out.
