Does anyone know of any quick release kits for less than £200 that are safe! Part of me does not trust the £30 ones on ebay...

At this rate I doubt il get one

cheers

Lots of nice weld on ones here http://www.jjcraceandrally.com/race/quick-release-bosses

If you want bolt-on this looks quite tidy http://www.jjcraceandrally.com/race/quick-release-bosses/motacorsa-quick-release-steering-wheel-boss

These ones can be had on ebay for £30. They look identical but I don't know if they are cheap knock offs or just the exact same ones without a hefty price tag added though

I was thinking of buying one myself, but don't want my steering wheel position any more forward than it already is so I haven't bothered.

I've got one of the old slim 'Snap-off' ones that is only a cm or two thick, done me proud for years.

Don't buy a knockoff copy of the Lifeline one. I can show you a video of the steering wheel coming off when a friend rolled his Clio.

Lifeline are good, Go Race are good, Brown & Geeson* OK. Avoid the rest.

Thank you that is what i wanted to hear as they do look identical so it was tempting...

They are all fine, right up to the point where they fail.

I have read some good reviews on the nrg 2.5 unit but its nearly 80mm i really want a weld on to try and bring that down a bit but again they are all so pricey!

So demon tweeks just informed me that the mountney quick release on their website will only fit the mountney steering wheels and boss kits but they do not know why it is just the information they have been told... Has anyone used one before?

To be fair things tend to break when a car barrel rolls

Yes, just hopefully not the thing you are holding onto.

That came off rather easily, although I don't think he was going to recover by steering at that point!
