After market warning lights

Has any one fitted there own aftermarket warning lights
can you just cut the wires from the dash plug an wire them into individual lights an not have to use the circuit board in the dash/ dials

Of course you can.Like you could have a pair of bollocks for an eml etc lol

But are all of the warning lights negative earth
( earth all the new lights to chassis an run the the wire from the dash plug to the appropriate bulb)
but this will only work if they are all negative earth ?
