View Full Version : F10 5 speed modified gear linkage

Before I start hacking my gear linkage to refurbish/improve, does anyone do ready made sets for an F10 5 speed? I know they are fairly easy to make but one ready done would save me a bit of time!

I have a feeling my 5 speed one went with the old box as I can only find a 4 speed one in my stash :confused:

Yes, not the whole lot from lever to box.

Didn't think there was any difference between 4/5 speed gear linkages?

Are you after a rosejointed one?

Top link bar is positioned slightly differently on a 4 speed linkage. If you look on the vertical part on one side there are two holes. Top is for 4 speed and bottom for 5 speed. The ball joint is pressed into one of the holes.

Yeah. Dont even need to RJ it. You can grind off the ball joint and fit another in the lower hole. I think the screw in ball joint for the boot strut is the same size so you could use that ;).

Found mine and its deffo a 4 speed and scruffy at that! Hopefully Edd is making up a batch of modified rose jointed ones. :thumb:
