Well these took some work and plenty of autoglym interior cleaner to get to this stage. Still not perfect but much better than they have been for some years

So completed the wire tuck. Decided to move the horn into the recess between grill and rad as it’s just spare space. Also ran the loom across the front and had to extend the drivers headlight loom to reach.
Had a real mare with the bonnet pull tho, wanted it completely concealed but just couldn’t get it to reach. Had to wrap it around the bay and tuck into the front passenger leg. It’s better than it was so I’m happy.
Just leaves some filling and painting for next time.

So not done much since the end of the summer other than use it daily.
Needs a replacement battery as it struggles after a few days and the alternators charging it.
Finally managed to get a new plug loom for my chopped dizzy to coil and also fitted the new straps to my parcel shelf. Think this will be re trimmed next year.

Also picked these up so will get painted with the window trims when I get the colour matched.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191110/5272820162392feafc4b2904be9f56be.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191110/6fb70e61140ad6bf948d9edd15bd777f.jpg

Picked up a few bits today for the Nova. Found a guy local to me who was stripping a GTE so managed to pick up the larger fan for my radiator, got a very good set of rear surrounds and also a Larger GTE servo unit.
Was going to put the fan straight on but realised the plug was different to mine so will modify it when I have time.
Also allows me next year to get some paint mixed to match my pillar vinyl sample I have and il do all the surrounds and skirts the same.

So got myself a GSI front bumper and it was at a very good price even tho it’s had the bottom cut out and toe eye missing.
Needs some work and a jet wash to get the surface paint off but I’m wanting the original grey finish so hopefully will clean up well.
Plenty to do in the new year!

I was a long time contemplating it but because it hadn’t been smoothed and painted I thought I can work with it. Going to add a honeycomb grill to the lower half and hope it looks too 90’s

So I’ve started tidying this up a bit. I’ve trimmed the remaining plastic from the cut section so it’s symmetrical on both sides. Also had to repair 2 of the brackets that where damaged. I found a 2 part epoxy by JB Weld that dries a dark grey and extremely strong. So far these hold very solid.
Next thing is to jet wash this to remove the paint and then I can see what the finish looks like.

Interested to see how the bumper turns out
Rather than mesh, I'd go for slats to match the grille...not as easy but more pleasing on the eye!

I really don’t want to go for mesh if I’m honest, was actually looking at ABS stuff as it looks more modern. I’m just thinking how best to attach it to the rear of the bumper.

Bargain! I remember back in the day, there was a silk violet Gsi that had slats added to the bumper - they used a Zafira bumper iirc - looked ace!

I did have a quick look online for a standard slatted grill but nothing really useable came up. Il look at the Zafira tho, see what it’s like. The only thing is tho is I’m not painting or using filler so it must attach fairly easily as I cannot cover any holes or fittings etc

Thought it was in my head but it definitely pulled me forward more when braking. You get so used to pressing hard on the brake to get them working on these cars!!

So got the pressure washer this weekend to test the theory that I could strip the paint from the bumper. I have to say it did a pretty good job of stripping it off. It wasn’t perfect and did leave a small bit of paint and primer behind.
So it was a case of carefully rubbing with some nail polish remover. Again it wasn’t easy and did fade in places so out came the heat gun. Gave it a quick pressure wash and then went all over with heat. Once finished I rubbed on some bumper gel.
This is the final result.

Should just need to take off the Corsa rods and fit the Nova ones with my ends. May need to trim the top off the Corsa pinion shaft but hopefully that’s it. Not quite a quaife but this was £40 and il make money back on the Corsa rods.

That’s the braided fuel hoses made up and fitted. Also got through some proper rear view mirror glue to attach to the glass so have fitted the Corsa B option and removed my original which was rusting under the glass.
Now my local garage has opened up I’m hopeful for a MOT next week.
