Just bought/brought myself a 3j gripper diff for myself as an xmas gift, what are people using etc to handle the extra strain?? Heard of audi bearings with machined hubs etc, talk to me..

I think nick j's nova and Andy bishops run a VW bearing in a machined hub with an extra piece of aluminium machined that bolts to where the brake dust shield bolts to, to take the wider bearing. Defiantly seen some pictures on here might of been in a thread started by the previous owner to nick.

Harry Hockley will machine your hub to accept the Audi bearing. You then fit the standard 2.0 flanges I think.

Price plus vat is on their site. I think it was about 120 for the machining which doesn't sound too bad

The bearing is VW Audi group correct. The part you want is actually a MKIII Golf rear wheel bearing and the part to google is:- BAHB311315AD

Any good machinist can do the work for you that understands tolerances for interference fits.

£120 is a very good price. Ive been quoted £100cash to do mine.

Shaft up grades, youll be looking at custom shafts.

Super fwd do the hubs too. I wrote an article/how to on here how to get them machined yourself.

Ben looks like it come to a fair bit more than 120 ignore that comment.

Surely they just do shafts?

If not, get the hubs off, then the bearings, take to a machine shop and say "get these to fit i'll pay with folding" like i did.
Then there are a few places that make shafts, Lee303 has some made (due to crazy inner cv joints) email or ring them and say " i have a turbo Nova, i drive like a c**t, i need better shafts" see what they say.
