Hi guys, I'm in need of some advice. I have a very old e16se engine with the f13.5cr box. I would like to update the engine but keep the same box, dose anyone know what 1.6 16v engine will marry up to my gearbox if any. Cheers mark

Does the same aplie to any of the 1.8 Astra's. I found a 1.8 sxi with low miles but heavy rear end damage and have been offered very cheap

The gearbox will fit but the 1.8 engine will be a harder conversion

If it's an sxi it's likely to be a z18xe with fly by wire throttle. The astral mk4 1.8 up to 2001 are x18xe1 small block and are throttle cable .

Swap the flywheel over from the E16SE as it will be lighter
