Hi all,
What's everyone's thoughts on the spare wheel well in a nova in terms of keeping it or cutting it out to put a sheet of metal in? Mine has a few rust holes nothing to major but the back panel could do with a tidy up and I will never use the spare wheel well but still can't decide as it will be changing a big part under the shell, I'm more swinging to get rid of it to be honest.
Let me know what you think?
Phil

It won't be for track use or anything just tidying the underneath up before it is painted and resealed underneath.

Keep it. Wheel wells give added strength.

I'd keep it, unless you've been unlucky I'm going to guess its probably not that rusty and will tidy up ok. You may change your mind about carrying a spare wheel, I didn't bother for years but do keep one in there now.

What's the point in getting rid of it?

I got a blowout on a roundabout a few months ago on the way to work (60 miles away). Still got to work on time thanks to spare wheel, jack etc.

A pointless modification, keep it.

If you're doing underbody aero it's worth removing
