Kadett vs Nova conrods

I need two new rods for my wee car. I've found some 1.1 kadett ones where the stroke Is identical at 61mm but the bore is different.
Chances are these will fit in my 1.0 right?

And they fitted..... right in the bin lol they couldn't have been any more different.
Clearly I bought the wrong thing or something lol.

Having owned a 2.0 16v saloon and a 2.5 v6 hatch.... I can assure you I don't. lol
Awesome machines don't get me wrong, but I really need 50 mpg right now and the wee 1.0 delivers. I got new rods from Germany already and my car is back up and running - better than ever as the valve stem seals were done and a lot of other little jobs were done.

I just wanted to retain the original block, for no other reason than I wanted to lol. It feels a bit more peppy and smooth now so happy with it.
