With a proper arch roller and heat gun up the paint a bit but 9 times out of 10 u do some damage

Phonebook trick ftw lol

On a Nova the shape of the rear arch will be difficult with a roller, hammer and dolly but chances are it'll need paint. Grinder to take the lip back is a paintless approach but weakens it if you don't leave any lip.

I saw something clever with a baseball bat and rolling the vehicle back and forth..

Baseball bat, phone book trick or a arch roller

That'll be fine. The inner and outer arch lips are spot welded all the way round, so assuming you don't go past the spot welds it should hold together. Go too far and the inner will no longer be attached to the outer and cause you problems.

I seen a guy do this before and you wanna make sure your arch is solid. There's a video floating about of a guy tooling with a bat and his hole arch falls off lol.

Also if your cutting the lip back to the welds use a thin disc or the heat from the cut will blister the paint

What state are your arches in anyway? if they are originals on anything but a low miler theres a good chance theres rust or filler lurking in there, which will make things difficult.

That arch is full of rust and filler.

That's my point. Be carefull what you've got before you start rolling

if you have a good solid car i would leave them alone and change your wheels. i have a set of 15inch compomotive rims and my nova sits quite low with out touching the rear aches. you may regret messing about with it,once you cut or bend you carnt go back!!!
