Steering

So, I'm getting a tiny squeak (that might be solved with some WD40) right where the steering goes through the firewall. It looks like there's something missing though, is there supposed to be some rubber or something? The squeak is emanating right where the rod goes through the firewall (I'm guessing, as I couldn't get my head in there) and every so often, when I go around a corner, I get like a snap coming from one of the CV's. I've changed both of them, no idea as to what it could be.

There is a rubber between the bulkhead and the rack which is a round wedge sort of shape. Pretty sure there is nothing at the cockpit side of the bulkhead which might explain it looking like something is missing.
