C20xe idling to high

So since I re fitted the XE back into the nova after sitting in the corner for a couple of years it has now decided to tick over at 2000rpm. On start up its fine sitting around 1000rpm bit as it warms up the revs go up! So far iv changed the temp switch manifold gasket throttle position switch and idle control valve the last of which made it worse anyone have any ideas?

Could have an air leak somewhere! Dodgy afm?

Iv checked for air leaks changed all the gaskets etc

My first though was also the airflow meter as well as airleaks, also might be worth checking your timing again and also the cam belt, the belt maybe slack with age so get it replaced.

On the subject of cambelts; does anyone else find a new belt becomes more loose after say 100 miles after the initial stretch & had to be re tensioned?
