Hi all. Didn't really know what section this should go in....

I need a big tub of nuts bolts and screws as I am always finding myself short, or finding them when I am not looking for them lol

What sizes and types would be good to have a few drawers full of?

Also what size should the earth bolt be for gearbox earth to chassis? (XE)

Start with things like.

M6x15,20,25,30 bolts. I get hex and allen.
M8x20,25. Bolts same as above.

M6 and M8 nuts.

A good thing to do is a raid ava/cav/astra in a scrappy too.

Thanks Benn. It's been years since I last went to a breakers yard - any good ones in our area? Last one I went to was silverlake - can you still just have a walk around and grab what you fancy or have things changed in the yards now?

Try and avoid stainless steel for any stressful environments.

I have a massive collection of bolts I bought for my first rebuild, all 8.8 BZP. Ended up going back to originals on main suspension areas. I end up running out of the very short M6 and M8s ones most, e.g. M6x20, M8x20.

Silver lake has changed alot now. Nothing like it used to be, it's quite shite in there now.
But you can see go in and look and strip off what you want...

Agreed, the short M6 and M8 are en route :)

Benn - do you know of any better ones in the South?

Harries, in Emworth, but that's a bit of a drive from you. But they are getting few and far between now.

Craig S might be worth asking as he knows all the local places

Thanks Benn, the one in Emsworth is only 25 miles away, will give them a call :)

Or really? Clear Liphook isnt where i thought lol

They have a good mix of new and old cars, haven't seen a nova in a while tho, but Cav/Astra and Corsa can be found and stripped.

Girl in the office is hot too.
