Always wanted one since I had one as my first car. Purchased it with 44K on the clock and now has 51K. Completely original with probably 95% the original parts it left the factory with. First four years of its life it was a company car. But most of its life was spent with the same lady who garaged it and I was told she never drove it in the rain. So the condition of this car is all down to her looking after it for nearly 20 years. Puts a smile on my face, never lets me down (touch wood).

Does anyone know if the wing mirrors should originally be red instead of grey as I know they have been replaced?

Thanks for viewing and hope the pictures work as done all on my phone.

That looks really clean, welcome to the forum. Wing mirror where only colour codes in higher models so it's all orginal as far as I can tell.

Thanks guys, I'll let you know if I need a new kidney ;) As for plans what would you guys do with it? I love how original it is original stereo, number plates, dealer sticker. It even come with the original key ring, warranty certificate, brochure etc. Next I need to paint the logos back on the hubs as faded.

Keep it exactly as it is. Nice car:)

i think the mirrors were grey as has been said. Interesting you say that they were replaced ? For what reason? As they are what I would expect to see. Unless it just had a drivers mirror and the passenger one was added later.

have you been on to the dvla for its history?

You need a new kidney you just don't know it yet!!

That would be the BEST sleeper EVAR! If you can afford to build and insure (keep it legal!) a decent spec 20LET conversion (C or Z) it would be great fun annoying Porsche/BMW/Audi/Merc owners in their £40,000+ cars and seeing their face as you sail past!

If you cant afford that, keep it as it is and enjoy it or maybe a 1.6 16v conversion? Just be sure to tuck it away in a dry garage stored properly, the last Nova I had looked OK but they hide rot very well and don't like winters!

I do have crazy ideas on doing the stuff above but I think would be a shame to change such an original car. Maybe in the future ;) Saying that would probably be cheaper option then running my other car that's a money pit, that's why I love the nova so cheap to run. Just looked at service history and the mirrors were replaced 2009 but no comments why. Can you get more history information from the DVLA?

you can get more info from the dvla regards owners and where it was registered etc. form v888 ? From memory?

they won't tell you why the mirrors where changed though. Seems strange that? If the garage where it was done is still going you could give them a ring if you wanted to get more info...especially if you have a job number or something?
