Hello,

Am currently in the process of wiring my LET engine loom to my 1.4 Luxe Nova car loom, and am uncertain which wire is the live and switched live on my ignition switch for the engine loom to connect to? (see picture below)

https://scontent-lhr3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpf1/v/t34.0-12/12032482_10206715768085754_2001103395_n.jpg?oh=b1a 8145715ff613c7fa58c9ccf03fd5b&oe=56032215

I know (or at least think) the black wire on my engine loom is the switched live and red the permanent live (see below)? The other red wire is the fuel pump, the rest of which I am also familiar with and know where to connect them to.

I'm taking an uneducated guess that the thick live red on the engine loom connects to the thick red on the ignition barrel? but am unsure which black wire on the ignition barrel the black switched live wire on the engine loom goes to!

Any help very welcome!!

Cheers,
Tony

lol it is, yeah. It's one of the first ones made, dated 1974, no. 633. My dad gave it to me a few Christmases ago ... still got the original receipt of purchase, and he bought it when he was 18 :)

Haha how about that lol No suede box unfortunately, just the receipt and Omega lifetime guarantee certificate.

Don't suppose you'll have any idea about what wire is the live and switched live on my ignition barrel would you lol?

Well, I guess I'll just have take a gamble and connect the red wire on the LET loom, which I think is the permanent live, to the red wire on the ignition barrel, which I also think is the car's permanent live (or 12V constant supply), and connect the black wire on the LET loom, which I think is the switched live, to the black wire on the bottom of the ignition barrel nearest my thumb in the picture, which I think is the switched live for the car's ignition.

I have a feeling the thickest black wire is the battery live, and the black/red is the starter, which only leaves the other two lol. So, I could be totally wrong, and have no idea what will happen if it is, but hopefully nothing too disastrous will happen should it be incorrect lol.
