Phil Baines up in Darlington (PB Fibreglass) - 01325 380113

He's excellent, has done loads of stuff for me over the years for the Novas and my previous Escort.

Worth a try, I've certainly known him to work a Saturday when he's busy.

Look for any functional glassfibre item & adapt it.

Something like this & narrow it from the centerline to suit a nova body then make the structural supports through the tailgate.

Also means you can set the height so it'll look like a WRC car not a barrybolton.

I'm doing one of these; replacing the oddly shaped base with flat ally with a basic slight curve / angle to suit top angle.

Not looking for too much downforce just a little as the back is quite stable tbh ,I don't want to introduce too much to detract from straight line speed

IMO you want as much downforce as possible in said nova without a crazy top speed. Drag is also a large factor with something like a nova tailgate; probably find the top speed will be the same with such a wing as it cleans up the airflow off the body. In the same way a front flat floor & splitter generates less drag compared with standard, with the bonus of downforce.

I've been looking at spoilers on other cars lately as I was going to buy a fibreglass tailgate. The standard gsi spoiler is pretty heavy at 3 kilos, good to know fibreglass ones can still be bought. I don't know how close a fit they would be but spoilers on recent Suzuki Swift, Citroen c1 and c2, previous gen Fiesta ST all look nice, not too over the top like aftermarket fit any car types of spoiler. You can get fibreglass copies of these cars spoilers on ebay for around £70, could possibly fit well without too much adapting, I hadn't got as far as measuring anything yet though. Oh and the current corsa vxr spoiler could be a good call to look at as presumably its a similar width, maybe too much of a curve in it though.

I have ordered a Gsi one for now ,I hope to in the near future get a data logger so when this is installed I might look at a more radical spoiler and compare speeds

Let us know the quality of the spoiler Jez, the rest of his parts look really good in the pics. Just struggling to justify £290 on a spoiler and bootlid...

Hmm he does on a MK2? I've spotted HH also supplies / produces. I might be interested if pricing doesn't require lube.

I see a certain someone is trying to corner the market via ebay now after all the drama...
