Alright chaps, ive put a deposit pending collection on Vinnys Nova GTE unfinished project (in for sale section). Now i have a 1985 Nova GL track car currently sporting a 290ish bhp 12.4 1/4 mile C20let. The GTE comes with a newly built 1600 t40s engine but my dilemma is do i reshell the LET into the GTE or go for a change and run the 1600. I would like to do more road miles and a few trackdays aswell as just the drag racing i do now. I have a nipper on the way and wanted to either get mine painted with new archs sills and front panel or buy a new shell in which i have done the latter. Any advice or opinions appreciated!!

I keep thinking about putting a 14NV back in my SR. I think I would get bored though, so I am sticking with the XE for now.

I would go with the 1.6 and twin 40s but you might get bored of it not having the power of a let, would you be keeping both? If so definitely go with the 1.6 then you have the best of both worlds .

Turbo the gte, sell the 1.6 and 40's and split what's left of the old nova. You'll have a turbo'd gte and probably have more money then you started with. That's what I'd do anyway lol

What are the thoughts on?

Driveability?
Power and use on track?
Living with it everyday?
Running cost?

Let novas can be fun on track, you just gotta make sure you have the reves high in the corners to make sure you have lots of boost to power out the other side.
A carb'ed one, you'll have power there all the time. Just less. So top end/long straights you might run out of puff.
