Electric Window Switches

I own a 1990 Nova GTE with a Mk2 Dash fitted by the last owner.
When he sold me the car he took the console & switches out for his
new motta. Car only cost 100 quid so I couldn't complain!
I've not managed to get hold of the correct Mk2 Centre console
with the Mk2 Switches.

Problem is I got them home and found the Mk1 Wiring has a different connector and 5 Wires... The Mk2 Switches only have 4 wires. Anyone
know how I could wire them up?? Which Colour to which??

why not use mk 1 swithes and mod the c-console so they fit. I fukin hate wireing :cry:

Not got the Mk1 Switches so would be quicker to rewire the mk2 switches.

aaa, vaux quoted me nearly ?30 for one mk1 switch :evil:

What colours have you got and how many?

Just took another look at them. Heres the details...

Mk1 Wiring in the car from old switches.

Left
5 Wires
Brown
Yellow
Blue
Black
Brown

Right
5 Wires
Brown
Yellow/Red
Blue/Red
Black
Brown

On the Mk2 Switches there are 4 wires on both
Blue/Red
Brown
White
Grey/Green

I'll take alook in the haynes manual in a min to see if that sheds any light!!

Afraid it's a mystery to me as well,

Hopefully putting this back at the top of the pile, it may get seen by someone who has actually done it before.

right well using vauxhalls standard id start by connecting the brown on the switch to both the browns from the loom

this is where it gets weird at mine have the same setup

white is live for some reason and connects to the black from the old wiring

the other 2 are direct feeds to the motors so just patch em together any way and see if they go up and down at the correct times if not switch them round :)

Cheers Guys for the help.. Finally managed to sort it...

From Old Mk1 Wiring to New Mk2 as follows.

Yellow to Blue/Red
Blue to Grey/Green
Black to White
Brown to Brown

All working fine!! Windows that go down at Last....! :lol:
