Hi,years ago I ran my nova on twin 40s with electric pump to filter king,i had no problems at all with fuel supply,i see many people that don't bother and just run them off original pump with I small regulator bringing pressure down.also do I really need to use a red top facet pump??I think I could get away with a smaller facet pump.the engine is a C16SE which will be camed/ported/twin 40s

I just use a normal facet with filter king on my e16se

I don't see the gains of using a red top rather than a normal facet so sounds good

I just use the mechanical pump direct to carbs. Dont see the point in an electric pump, you only have to regulate it back down.

mmm is the mechanical pump to much pressure on its own?i though it ran at 8psi when carbs need 2.5-3 psi?

Isnt that why there is a fuel return pipe to the tank. So the pressure can equalise?

I run electric as my mechanical pump is blanked off on my cam carrier

Is it easier enough to go to a Mechanical pump? looking at my options for when I go to the E16SE I have. That came from my GSi with EFI, however the Sting is a 1.2 carb, has easy as it sounds to put the 16SE in, probably have the engines and gearboxes swapped in a weekend, its more the swapping of the Fuel Tank, Loom etc. that is making me look at the other options to see if I could keep the 1.2 Loom to the car.

Would I need to find a 1.6/1.8 Carb'd Cav or Astra for the pump?

D you have your electric pump going into a pressure reg millworn or direct to carb?
novalutionGSI I'm sure you will have to add a return fuel line because I don't think yours been spi will have one

My injection tank has a return, multi point injection. Suspect my current tank I have on the car doesn't have one. Either way, sounds like I'll be laying under the car fitting a tank!

I run a pair of red top pumps side by side to a filter king to the carbs and dont run a fuel return..

Its not required to run a return if you have a filter king plus it acts as a little swirl pot too..

why do you run a pair of red top pumps not just one?i had a pump plus filter king on my last nova but was 16 years ago so cant remember how i had fuel lines set out

redundancy I'd imagine, given its a rally car...

Yes sorry, should have said.

Its a rallycar, they sometimes fail, rallies are expensive so pair of them side by side but only run one at a time.

Mine runs from the facet to the malsapi fuel pressure reg the to the 40s
