Hi all so my saloon failed the MOT the other day some minor things and others I should of checked a bit closer, but it was meant to be a mate that sorted what needed doing to get to SantaPod instead just failed it.

So he said headlights don't adjust and one was insecure, would you suggest just new headlights? if so are there even any mk1 headlights around that aren't corroded on the adjusters?

Rear wheel bearing... fair enough it has a slight bit of play nothing major ( hydraulic press has been ordered to get this done)

Tyres have cracks I knew about which is why T1-R's on order

and finally the passenger side brake light is always on when headlights are turned on, hoping just a dodgy connection on the bulb holder?

Oh and on the way home from my mates alternator belt snapped and the brakes feel terrible so think the master cylinder is on its way out :thumb:

I have a brand new 1.2 master, some headlights, and the light is probably a bad earth

You don't need a press to do the rear bearings

So youre annoyed because he hasnt given you a bent mot?
Personally i wouldnt have embarassed myself presenting a car for test with those known faults.

I knew the wheel bearing was on it's way out didn't know it was a failure and tyres I didn't realise how bad the cracks were actually... I wasn't after a bent mot at all if that's what I wanted I know where to go. He was going to sort what needed to be done so I could get to santapod instead just handed a failed mot that's why I was annoyed.

And thank you Stuart I just found out that by reading online so managed to cancel the order :)

and millworm i just pm'do you :) cheers

Lol that's the impression i got. im sure it will be fine on the re-test if you simply fix all the faults.

If that's all it failed on I'd be happy.

Yes. Pretty easy fixes and nothing too major.

I'd put money on you needing a Corsa C SRi wheel bearing :p

All that could be done in a weekend.

Headlight adjusters just rust, get some oil on them and slowly wind them in and out.
Rear light will be a knackered bulb or bad ground.
Tyres just want replacing.
Wheel bearings are easy. I guess your using Corsa hubs going by what's said above.
