Kent ast2 (285 type beast). Made the same power as the 300 but way way way less peaky

Well a 270 is quite mild etc.
ive driven and seen many very respectable builds using the Kent ast2
had a go with a 300 cam and I was ok I found it too peaky for my liking

When you say mild as in power gains or power thru revs?should still see around 8-10 bhp with what iv got shouldn't I?

I'd say about 125-130ish with what you have and the 270 cam.
call it 140-145 with the ast2/300

Don't want it ticking over like a bag of spaners tho lol and will be on road with it?

All three idle fine, unless setup by a moron.

Is the 285 just what they call the ast2 these days then?
Love my twin 40 1.3 with the ast2, I think going to a lower spec cam would be a disappointment.

The ast2 is a 285deg cam.... No idea why its being called a 285 rather than its real name lol

You about have me sold on the bigger can,I can still run a 285 on normal lifters and will be clearance between piston and valve,it's just on some of the cam descriptions it says Pistons may need machining and solid lifters?
