the police believe it to be a seat leon R and it was racing a Porsche at the time
ok, I like driving quick, but that must have been a truly awful way to die, 1000 ft straight down.. at 90mph, that would be 8 seconds before impact..
Holy shit, what a way to go.

Ouch. Surprised how intact the car is TBH.
It probably wasnt 1000feet.The media always exaggerates things.

I can think of worse ways to go. At least no innocent third party was involved

Depends who you see as an innocent 3rd party mate, I'd say the passenger was innocent and killed by the drivers obvious disregard for fragility of his own life and that of his passengers.
As a lift installer free fall scares the crap out of me, it's my worst nightmare!!!! Makes my testicles feel funny thinking of it. And even if it was 500 feet it's enough time to realise you're about to die!!!

I agree with you to a point, but I'm pretty sure he will have consented to being a passenger and travelling in that manner. And surely we all know the associated dangers of such things, we just never think it will happen to us...

Yeah ofcourse mate!!!
I don't give it large with anyone on the road now, if there's an accident and someone's killed and you're witnessed to have been "racing" then it's potential prison time, or as this article proves much much worse.
