View Full Version : Mk2 hazard switch. Do none of them work ever??
I've bought three new hazard switches in the last 4 months and none of them stay in the off position. I know they are infamous for being useless, but is it me/the car?? The last one I bought last week as a new gen and that doesn't work either!!!
The seller things I'm playing him too and is being funny about me sending it back!
ive reverted back to wedging it with some cardboard.... Lol

Also check eBay there are nos ones on there
Just take the spring out and operate it as a push pull switch. No silly bits of cardboard then.
That's just what I was going to say Iain I did mine by accident a few months ago trying to fix it and lost the little profiled piece that the needle is supposed to run in to keep it held in, so thought sod it I needed the car the next day so took the springs out and now I actually think it's how they should of been out the factory lol

I've had a few and none seem to like being in the on position... A bit of a clean with and air line and they're a bit more friendly
I've got 3 and they all needed taking apart , cleaning , dab of grease . Now they all work fine .

I didn't think anyone even bothered trying to use an original hazard switch lol

I bought 2 new genuine off eBay recently for my novas and both played up! I then found a new one that my grandad got from the dealers in 1995, put that in and it worked perfect straight away so maybe I was thinking the ones that are on eBay are genuine but a different design maybe or different batch? Their a shit idea full stop!
I've bought 2/3 aswell and all had the same problem. I then found if you give them a quick tap, they stay off.
