Im thinking of fitting alloy top mounts. I've only seen this style before.

875

which i'm not a great fan of as you have to enlarge the top mount hole.
I like the idea of using this style..

876

I think they'll be easier to adjust for camber and wouldn't need the hole enlarging.
Any one used this before? Will they work on with my Gaz coilovers?

Any one know the size of the Nova fit ones? Just incase...

if you run them upside down you don't neet to modify the strut mount hole. I preffer having the camber adjustment at the bottom of the shock mount hole. then you can adjust it when it is on the 4post ramp from underneath. You have to go back and forth adjusting the camber and tracking till you get it right so saves time. if you have a camber bolt or a bolt with a concentric head you can adjust it without taking the weight on the car.

Don't run them upside down ad then the weight (and shock loading) of the car will all be on a circlip rather than being on the machined aluminium bit

the circlip is probably stronger than the alloy. Never had an issue, ill put it the other way when it starts to crack.

You don't NEED to enlarge the hole, however you will in order to get the most adjustment from them possible. You can have them middle-ish without any choppy.

Don't be daft @therealnovaboy, that circlip (and the whole weight) is resting on what, 5mm of alloy? Whatever's left from machining the circlip groove. Nowhere near as strong as the machined housing that the bearing sits in.

To me the circlip taking all the weight really isnt a good idea, they arn't designed to take weight of a car.
I dont mind slotted holes, but they've been known to move. So i wanted to look at top mounts first. And with the design in my 2nd pic you can adjust it all from the top with ease. While tracking.

True.

I had thought of it along time ago. Just never got to any more. As these are a much better design, i just dont want to have to cut up and weld anything at the mo...

Sorry, i know you can fit them without, but to correct what camber i have it will prop need alot of adjustment

So will they work/be ok? Any one got the sizes of the normally nova ones? Then i can email the place selling the ones above...

Looking at Johnnys, I think you'll struggle to get much adjustment without chopping bits of turret due to the nature of those 2 or 3 bolts that hold it in place. Bit happy to be proved wrong!
