Does anyone know (or think) whether using this fuel sender unit would work as an alternative to the proper GSI/GTE/SRI sender unit in an LET conversion?

Can't find the proper one anywhere, and so I need to start thinking of an alternative to make this work.

Please see link for the part I am thinking of buying as an alternative: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121149907365?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Hi tony I'm no expert but I think it depends on what tank you have. If it's a proper Gsi gte mpi external pump tank that pickup pipe won't sit inside the plastic swirl pot in the tank. Thus cornering hard might lead to fuel starvation.

if I'm completely wrong then please do correct me

Rich

No, you're spot on Rich, thanks for that fella :thumb: Didn't realise there was an internal swirl pot that the sender unit sat in, otherwise that would've worked! Back to the blighted drawing board again.

Like I said I might be wrong but my tank has like a plastic bowl in it an the sender is a pig to get it to twist out of the bowl and the tank

I don't know what the difference between an mpi an carb tank is or if a carb tank an that sender would work on a let set up. But please get another opinion to be sure

hope you get sorted Rich

I'm no expert on these either Rich, but what you say with regard to describing the mpi tank and sender unit makes perfect sense. The difference between a carb and an mpi tank (I think, though will need to have a look at my old carb tank sender unit) is that the sender unit for the carb tank doesn't have as deep a return pipe which would sit inside the mpi fuel tank swirl pot, which (as you say) would cause fuel starvation problems on corners.

Thanks for the response nonetheless :)

Are you referring to a sender unit from a Corsa B for an mpi (GTE/GSI) tank? It is the mpi (GTE/GSI) fuel tank that I have, so don't use an internal fuel pump.

Cheers :thumb: though I would love to know how to contact this Drag racer on here (aka Anthony Drosos), as sent who I thought was Anthony Drosos a message (twice) on facebook but never had a response. Will try OPG and see where that leads.

Okay, so I managed to get in touch with Anthony Drosos on facebook and only has the left sender unit in the picture left in stock ... Is there a way I can make this work, as not familiar with this kind of electric connector? Need to know quite quickly, as there's only a couple of the one's on the left available; the one's on the right are completely sold out and will not be getting more. Thanks in advance for any help and advice! :thumb:

Nobody know the difference between the two types of connector on the lid of the sender units below? Need to know asap, as don't want to waste £'s on the wrong part, and only 2 left. NOTE: it is the sender unit on the left that is available which I am possibly about to buy; the one on the right with the connector that I am familiar with is completely out of stock.

Soldering is a good shout. Was going to cover the terminal(s) using something like this:
