little red box on back of alternator??

Whats it for and were dose it plug into? I seem to have snapped mine of whilst changing the alternator, and cant see were it goes and what it dose, any pics would help cheers!

Pretty sure it just stops the static on the radio

Ye its a choke or a capacitor. It stips the whine on AM/MW which im sure will be losing sleep over.

So leave the wire off complete then and cut of the box?

The box bormally has a rag which is earthed. The wire goes to the +terminal. So you can just remove the whole thing.
