View Full Version : What colour for my nova?
So finally got the nova mechanically spot on, it runs, drives, stops, handles, boosts etc perfectly, it really does feel like a nice strong build now. So now it's time to make the bodywork and paint match. Opinions on colour would be great. cheers

If the bay and inside and shuts are silk violet then I would stick with that as less work but it's your car so it your choice really lol
Interior and bay are silk violet but I've done a fair amount of welding in the boot section and engine bay so will be stripping the car either way.

Colour coded for me with a red stripe.
All grey/silver. Hate black bumpers as they arnt meant to be black.
Have i missed your project thread too?
i don't like the black bonnet look.... it makes me think the car had a front ender & you didn't paint it... i'm also not a lover of black wheels.... if the wheels were silver & the rest was colour coded, so it was sort of a menacing stock look, i think it would be spot on... but what do i know.... mine is flame pink & has several dozen golf ball size dents where the infamous hinckley hailstorm got it....

I will do a project thread when I get round to it, planned on doing the body and paint first though, then ill basically have everything ive done over last 3 years ready to make a thread with. Having not done the conversion I struggled to make the car feel like mine if you know what I mean. Usually i like to start wirh a tottally blank canvas but i spotted the car for real cheap in quite a rough way but with a nice engine spec and some nice goodies so couldn't resist lol. I have pictures of most of the work I've done so will probably make the full thread and then just update it as i tweek and change things which will be for a long as I own the car as I can't help myself lol.

I remember hearing about that at the time, I bet a lot of nice cars fell victim to that.
The bonnet and wheels have just been sprayed over with a few black rattle cans as that's what i had at the time. I bought the wheels from a scrappy so you can imagine the condition lol and bonnet was rusted beyond feasible repair since a replacement cost me a tenner and was only a 12mile round trip lol.

Whole point of the site is to ask for help when it's needed.. And yes deffo, making a car your own is hard. More so if you've bought it semi done.
But yes do a thread, will be interesting.
