Hello I am building a e16se from scratch 2 go in my 66,000mile 1.2 nova flare, I will b honest i have got a mechanical back ground but not had a lot to do with rebuilding an engine and getting more power out of it.

I have a chance of getting hold of a set of weber 45s will this b ok or would I b better with 40s???? (I have all ready got a round port inlet manifold)

What cam/pulley would I need??????

I am looking at a sportex 4 branch manifold + 2.5 INCH system is this a good choice???

I am leaving the bottom end bore size at 78.5mm seen as the bores are clean with no marks.

standard valve size just going 2 relap them

Skim the block

Skim the head ( I have seen there is a water jacket/hole on the inlet side that will need blocking of.)

all new gaskets and serviceable parts.

is there any thing any body can help with that I will need 2 know regarding this engine change? (My nova is on a carb all ready if that helps)

any info or ideas that you could plz share with me that would b great

Cheers Jim!:):)

You'll need to get an f 13 gearbox, as the old f10 one won't have the right size bellhousing.

As for the rest. Porting the head and fitting larger inlet valves will release more hp. The rest is down to what you are willing to spend

Thank you I have been thinking about that, I am sure I have seen something you have put up earlier about the starter motor and fly wheel not matching up????

The e16se didn't come with a fly wheel will I b able 2 use the 1 of my original 1.2??????

lighting the fly wheel yes or no???? If yes how much lighter???

f13 or f13cr?????

Sorry 4 all the questions !!!!

ok, you must use the 1600 flywheel. you can get it lightened if you wish, but remember this.. remove weight from nearer the outside to lower the inertia. simply removing weight from all over is not necessarily a good idea.

if you can get an f13cr, then all the better, but the f13wr is still pretty good. you could always stick a different diff gear set in to lower the gearing.

measure the diameter of it, and check it against your 1600 engine with the starter motor fitted.
