Does the let oil cooler sandwhich plate have a thermostat? Also what sort of oil temps are people seeing?

cheers

Probably same as the XE one, which assuming if it's a GM OE one it'll have a thermostat in. I think they open around 100C but have nothing to prove that.

iirc it's 90 that they open at - but I think it 'varies' lol

90 would make sense actually as it tends to settle around there if your taking it steady, although that does seem a little cool. All my other cars with oil temp gauages seem to settle more around the 100c mark even with low rpm driving. I wonder if it's sticking open a touch.

I just drove 160 miles in mine and the hottest it got was 86 degrees when I gave it some beans up a hill with the sun out, so I wouldn't worry!

Touch it after driving to see if it's circulating around the cooler.

Mine sitting on the motorway didn't go above 70 deg yesterday's for some reason!

Yeah def circulating round the cooler, done abit more reasech and 80-90 seems to be the sweet spot for these engines.

Cheers for all the replys.
