were to start...
i bought my first nova just after Christmas after wanting one since passing my test.
i was loving driving it as a daily driver until it was stolen at the beginning of may :(
when i got it back it had it brakes cut, boot lid bent (forced open) and engine partially stripped.
so now its a short term project my plans are..

standard wings
standard bumper
new front panel
new brake lines & braided hoses
corsa gsi brakes
clear indicators
smooth boot lid (added security)

and at a later date it will be getting a full shoot and some nova luxe alloys

its a mk1 1990 nova sallon 2dr in calipso red

Nice project - shame about the scummy gits who stole it ! Make sure you get all of the rust out of the seams on the tops of the chassis legs otherwise it will just pop up again further down the leg a few months later !

yes mate I have the wings to go on and a bumper
and the pictures were a massive help cheers I straightened the boot a few days ago :thumb:

Ah mate, I'm sorry to hear about it being stolen. Some git tried to do the same to mine, and bent my bonnet in 2 places, as well as the front right quarter panel. Now it looks like my bonnet is constantly open, and it just looks crap. http://oi57.tinypic.com/ifsf2w.jpg

Well my front panel turned up today so I had a bit play and got it to fit quite nicely :)
just waiting for my argon to show up so I can weld it all up :thumb:

If I was you I would whip out the engine and sort all the rust in the bay before you weld the front panel on.

I had one of my old 200sx's stolen and mindlessly burnt out back in 09. Had about 6/7k in the engine and turbo alone and they just dropped a match on it. I was ready to kill someone, i'd of given anything to catch the ****ers in the act, although I'd probably still be serving time for it now.

Love these old saloons - they remind me (no matter what people say) of the old BMW M3 e30's. Nice to see another Nova getting some much deserved tlc. Will be interesting to see what you do to this old beaut.

not been on in a while but the car is coming off the road on the 13th for the winter and to be stripped and sprayed professionally with some new underseal as well.
i have some interesting plans for the old girl and hope to have it sorted for pvs16 :thumb:

nearly 2 years since my last post theres no change to the calipso saloon but i have been and bought another 2 projects the green saloon is my new on the road toy with a 1.3 sport engine and the miami blue hatch is undergoing a transformation soon :) i hope you all enjoy

its all de-stickered now ready for a mk1 transformation and a colour change

but back to the red saloon its had its engine taken out and ready to be put on the spit so i can get to the underside of it and strip and underseal then it can be prepped for paint and a few changes :)
