I have my engine breather going into a catch tank with a little filter on top

It gets a bit oily and around the area coming out the filter mainly.

Should I have a filter on top? Why would oil come out of it? Shouldn't it separate and sit in the tank and just breath air?

Thinking I should just pipe to the floor from the top of the tank?

Do you have anything in the tank to stop the oily air from being evaporated straight out of the filter? Like baffle material.

Yeah it's baffled internally

Well turned it upside down and emptied a load of fuel and mayo out of it. Didn't show on the gaugey thing though

I've now ducted it to the floor instead of having the little filter in the bay.
