Hello, as some of you know I am currently in the process of repainting my car. Basically I have heard a few times in the past you can mix 2k clear in with the final top coat to give you a really good shine. What ratio would people use? I was thinking somewhere along the line of 1:1 Direct gloss with clear, and then 2:1 with normal direct gloss hardener and then 10-15% thinners.

Anybody done this? would my made up ratio even work? any other tips. I am confident in using 2k so that isn't a problem. If it matter then car is being painted 80L black.

Regards Dan.

hi dan I would just stick to the 2 k on its own if you get it on right , 2 :1 wouldn't bother to much with the thinners then 1500 wet flat then polish with g3 , then perfect it 3m glaze job done happy days:thumb: just my way of doing it the old 2k way

Never heard that!

You can flat gloss of and clear over the top for a deep shine and extra shine and protection.
