the feature on engine management that holds the throttle open for you is called full throttle gear change so surely that is correct?

I thought it was called overrevving and wasting time, when applied to a road car. If you have a straight cut sequential box, ie. BTCC racer then the ratios are so close that it is the quickest way. with a sequential box, you can do clutchless changes on the way up, but you still need to use the clutch on the way down.
