I'm thinking of converting my Nova from bolts to studs. What thread length would I need? M12 x 1.5 I know, but length I don't know. Would 30mm suffice, or would I need something longer/shorter?
You need to measure the thickness of your wheel, the thickness of the nut and add them together for your protruding length. 30 doesn't sound long enough

Measure a wheel bolt for a very rough idea

I have steelies on my Nova, so not that thick. Maybe 40mm or so total? Bolt length is about stock, I would say.
The studs need to be 10.9 rated aswell don't they?? I just bought a stud and nut kit from eBay £34 looks decent enough!!

Demon tweeks sell them for about 16 for the lot

With deep nuts aswell? Mine came with nuts or have I been shafted?!?

That's just the studs, then Normal open end nuts are about 20 on top but I'm getting buddy club ones
I'm glad I paid about right then!!!

Get the splined ones that press in through the back of the flange.

Demon tweeks state 45mm or 63mm long for Vauxhall for the splined nuts

The benefit of longer studs is you can run longer nuts, but it only really lends itself to alloys without center caps
Longer than necessary studs are incredibly annoying to use on a regular basis mind

It's possible to get open nuts the same length as the exposed thread on the studs; this is ideal imo ~ Keep it all greased and you wont care about a few more turns.

Has anyone run a stud conversion with cesaros and can tell me a length of the threaded conversion bars, I don't want them too long and want to order today with some other bits

Chances are you'll never get the perfect length ~ Buy them long & cut them down.

If, rather than thread lock the studs into the hubs, I were to thread lock the studs into lug nuts, wouldn't I basically be making wheel bolts too?
I'm looking for something along the lines of this http://www.velocityshop.com/images/products/1283981101-bx-lug-20-blue.jpg

Alloy nuts of that sort of length are the exact benefit I'm on about

I'm running on steelies though, sprayed white. I'd like rally style rims, but cost-to-cost, it wouldn't be worth getting rims that cost more than my car.
So any length will fit without any parts missing.
