Put a set of speedline alessios on my mk1 nova with coilovers and the tyre runs on the coil (quite low)
is this common? Should I just run a spacer to bring the wheel out a bit?

You can run a spacer to get the clearance or use shorter springs as that's what I have done with mine

Think the spring options is better idea so I can have bit more clearance on the arch, any idea what poundage sping rating for an ex engine to use?

What coilovers are you running? Most people tend to use a 300-350 spring for road use.

Just a pair of technix coilovers, they have a camber adjuster at the hub bolting point so I'll have to get that set right before I can judge what is best I guess

Is it on the ground and touching or still jacked up?

You might find you have larger diameter springs. You really want the smallest (1.9inch iirc)

Or what size tyres are you running? you might just have wide tyres...

195 45's from memory
yeas was sitting on the ground and rubbed, will have to measure the coils

Widths are a little arbitrary anyway.... Depending on the brand they can be 5-10mm wider than stated lol

Measure the ID then order some up from a motorsports place e.g. JJC/Demon Tweeks/RallyDesign

If you have a cheapo brand they have weird shaped springs so may or may not find something to suit.

DK Faulkner springs too
or Yorkshire springs (where GAZ get theirs from)

Do you have the helper spring still in? If you do you can remove it, so the coilover platform will be above the tyre...

No helper spring from memory, will have to have a measure up
