The hydraulic lifters are really noisy in my 20xe, I know you can clean them but tbh I can't be arsed and I don't want to fit them back and they still be noisy.
so new ones... There's ones on eBay for £68 a set which get mixed reviews or genuine ones at £160 a set from autovaux. Anyone used the ones on eBay is it worth buying them and saving £100 or will they be scrap after 1000 miles?

also what oil is best to run to get up and into the lifters, I'm using vauxhall 10/40 at the minute. What's everyone else using? Cheers

I just don't want to get a few thousand mile down the road and them be noisy or them not be upto a higher lift cam.

I'd personally get some INA ones.

scott, I used some 1.8 16v lifters in mine an there fine they have a bigger oil gallery so fill up quicker and are a better design than the xe ones.

I tried the ones from Trechii on ebay....

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VAUXHALL-REDTOP-C20XE-C20LET-20XE-HYDRAULC-LIFTERS-x-8-/381195889677?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item58c10bac0d

Lasted a couple of thousand miles and then started tapping again when cold.

INA ones would be the way to go.
