seems there are two filters one a metric other UNC thread.is this right?

mann filter part nos are w712 and w712/75. w712 = 3/4-16 UNF and w712/75 = metric m18x1.5 can anyone tell me which is right for an 1984 nova sr. ill guess the w712 as thats the one i dont have on the shelf :(

I just put the 712 mann one on all my Novas regardless of age or engine size, never had an issue.

I had a 1985 nova 1.2 around 20 years ago and it was the old unf filter on that,i think they went metric around 1986 from memory.

very early cars had the imperial thread, i dont know what the cross over year was, but the straight answer is it might be different depending on the year/s

you could unscrew the threaded spigot and swap with a later engine as a simple way of using your stock filters.

This. It changed over late 85 or 86 I think. An 87 was on the metric thread

I dont think ill bother changing the spigot but its a good idea. Im not desperate and will easily pick the right filter up. Just dont want to get another one when i have loads of gte ones on the shelf.

thanks Im pretty certain itll be the imperial one.
