1.2i has died on me, no fuel?

I had just driven 60 odd miles and stopped for some shopping (10 minutes) and the car wouldn't start. Had no phone so walked for two hours to get home!

The spark plugs are dry, I took the fuel in pipe of the injection body and put the ignition on, no fuel coming out.

The fuel is just above the redline so I doubt it is out of fuel.

What is most likely to stop the fuel?

I wouldn't rely on a Nova gauge so it may have run out.

Knackered fuel pump or fuel pump relay maybe.

Pull the return hose off the TB and crack the ign. If fuel comes out there is some in it.
Failing that it needs a pump or a filter.

Thanks, it turns out that it was out of fuel, and it only took 37 litres (not 42) to the full, where are the other 5 litres lol!

Not surprising that a mk2 gauge would be inaccurate, it hadn't quite reached the red.
