timing belt for 1.4 8v

Hey all,

Ive read somewhere that you can fit the earlier timing belt for the 1.4 14nv engine to get rid of the auto tensioner and just use the water pump to tension. Ive seen belts on ebay which are 104 teeth I think mine is 111 teeth does anyone know if this is the correct belt and also can I use my water pump or do I need an earlier one ?

U mite have to double check the belt teeth to as there are rounded ones and square ones

If its same as gte gsi 104 without tensioner and 111 with.
you can ditch or add the tensioner to suit.

Yes Mate, Piper do them if you want a fancy one, failing that a Gates 5083 belt will do.
