Hi wondering if anyone can tell me what cars had bias valves screwed into the brake master cylinder like 3/20 3/25 etc that would be suitable for my nova that has rear disc conversion it has 3/35 but it's a death trap! Rears just lock up
if anyone where I can get them that would be great thanks

Apparently some saloons have them, early mk2 astras with discs. I did look and it's not easy to tell best bet is get to a scrap yard and check old gm cars. I ended up running a wilwood

Mk2 Astra has them but they don't fit novas master cylinder. Had to change mine to one from a corsa/tigra

this ecat24 page might be of some use. [click] (http://ecat24.com/opel/catalog/part/1/14/391/4323/19502/)

a quick google search of them shows that they are about £75 each, so a bias valve, or a decent scrapyard find is in order.

I'm not sure what master cylinder is on it tbh but it's dangerous the way it is.
thats them on that ecat page. Gonna struggle to find them by the looks off it

Just plumb an axle load valve off a corsa or Peugeot/citroen into the car and have a thumbscrew to adjust it.

sorry for butting in, but what do the valve numbers mean ?

3/20
3/25
3/35

some sort of pressure ratio im guessing ?

What do the corsa Sri s use. Is the proportioning done in the abs unit?

I'm not sure what the corsa use but certainly the abs obviously stops if from locking up.
Jimbob-mcgrew I'm not sure what the first number means but I know the smaller the second number the more restrictive it is. Mine is a 3/35 just now but it's applying to much pressure to the rear

Are you after some 3/25s ? Second hand ones-be better with new ones really though I would think.
Might have some if you are struggling to find some up by you.

ahh i see. cheers.

corsa b uses the weird pressure box valve thing, mounted near the rear beam. which has a spring attached to its lever, thats controlled by the amount of weight in the car or something. i couldnt figure it out on mine, it was useless.

ive had an ABS tigra before, that uses pretty much the same layout as the corsa B, and that had the box valve at the back, it went through the ABS pump first, before hitting the valve.

i dont like that system myself, the brakes felt horrible to me, and i had random lockups now and then when on bumpy ground, from both the front and the back, randomly, almost like the system couldnt make up its mind about what to do.
plus there operated by an external lever, and 8 out of 10 that ive seen, the levers were usualy seized, and the weight control spring was rotted away.

keep the regular nova system i think, and try look out for a narrower valve.

or if no luck, you could do what meritlover said, and fit an adjustable valve, with a thumbscrew on, and have it setup totally custom for your style of driving.

Just thought I would let people know that vauxhall can get the valves from Germany for about £80 a pair so if anybody is stuck thats where to go. Didn't they would be able to get them but nice surprise to find out they can
part number is 90421844
