Modding chassis leg for alternator clearance

I've decided to go down the heating and reshaping route to modding my chassis leg. Just wondering what to use, do I need an acetylene torch or will a butane/propane hand held can be sufficient?

A propane can should help a bit, I did mine with a ball pein hammer.
