Hi all I'm after some advice on welding fear arches in and sills do I weld all the way along the joins? Or do I do the odd run of weld then leave a gap then weld again? Also if doing it the second way do I fibreglass the finish or filler?

Any my help would be great

Spot them and leave a second inbetween to let it cool, then grind back and use filler

So weld the whole way but spot weld and then spot again so the spots are together or leave a gap?

Sills must be seamed to pass the MOT on a repair. Of course this is achieved in a series of spots as not to distort the panels too much.

As for rear arches my advise might differ to others! :o

You could get away with less or bonding on an arch lip, but don't see why you would when it just takes a bit of time to spot it all the way round

I'd spot it in place at either end. Then do a spot one side then the other till you meet in the middle. Helps keep it cool.
They dont have to be touching either, you can leave gaps between the spots.
Sill wise, close spots or small lines of weld. If you arnt covering them.

Grind where needed, hammer and dolly if you are skilled enough to remove any larger heat dents. Then fiber glass and fill.
