Hi all

Will be picking up a shall that has had the top part of the slam panel cut out. I have been looking through the threads to see pics of peoples bolted in/removable ones to see pros and cons but with no luck.

Does anyone have pics of some and what are the concerns?

Thanks

No real concerns, not structural. Although may not be ideal if the bonnet's still on it's centre latch rather than pins.

The neatest way to do it is to cut it out and make a new larger overlapping one from a repair panel or scrap shell.

Thanks Iain. The bonnet does have pins but would rather use latch so will cut an overlapping piece from the shell I am scrapping and use old bonnet :)

Hopefully be OK with the latch if its secured well with a few bolts either side and maybe the slam support bar refitted.

I will feel it out when doing it and decide on latch or not, should be able to secure it enough. It will prob be one of the last bits I do when building the car up I reckon.

I use the standard latch with mine, the panels just help on by a button head allen bolt either side and a small brace bar to my intercooler support. The panel is how iain suggested and from another nova to overlap it.

Having it makes life so much easier working on the turbo setup. Have a look in my progress thread if it helps
