so as you can well imagine a 400 quid German **** mobile will have a few problems, the body work if rough and ready (couldn't care less im bound to bin it on a trackday anyway lol)

had to replace the two rear tyres after some driving that should not be condoned while driving it back home 60 miles from Doncaster 90 quid for the two fitted

pads will need changing soon

exhaust has a massive blow nice large crack around the back box where the tailpipe joins

all seemed well but only really stopped and admired the lovely Derbyshire surroundings as the clutch let go :D had to ease it back around 40+ miles with the clutch slipping so bad it was unreal car refused to go any faster then 50 mph and when I finally got it nearly home around 3 miles from home it decided to not let me select anygears on the middle of a large roundabout until I stopped and selected a gear with out the engine on peoples faces lmfao!

so all is not well in beemer land right now, but im sure once a new clutch is installed all will be well again

Is why theyre cheap lol

turbojolt

a clutch kit is only 80 quid and its probably still on its original one so no big deal, if anything big goes wrong it will be binned off and something will replace it

even at a grand its still given me more joy then the last two novas lol

i saw one of these E36's the other day, on the outskirts of west london. it was flying !

the guy was weaving in and out of lanes, on the dual carriageway past traffic, with his foot planted lol

did sound great too

turbojolt
22-03-15, 07:33 PM
wish I just paid someone to change this clutch now what a massive pain the **** job it really is!!!

undertrays removed and heat shields, under body strenghting plates and struts removed, prop shaft out, remove all the gearbox bolts (some of them are such a fecking pain in the **** its unreal!)

all of this done and the ba$tard gearbox still wont come out, turns out I also need to remove the starter motor...sound like a easy task until you find out its located under the inlet manifold which is held on by 10 million bolts its in 3 parts and has the engine loom running through the middle of it

im 13+hours into a clutch change and I still cant see the light at the end of the tunnel... bmws are the devils work!

Add a roll cage and my fat **** and all the stripping out would be pointless

sticky tyres
better pads
uprated fluid
coilovers
bucket seat and harness and thats me done. No point making this more then it is a cheap ****ty track and skid slag

so ive got some new brake bits on the shitter....replaced the front discs found one of the calipers to be seized (explains the strange 000mph brake wobble I was getting) so got a new caliper on it along with some new vented discs

fresh 4 dot racing ate blue fluid ;)

brake pads are awesome smoked like hell when bedding in but they really do bite! and bite hard! will be cool to see how they perform when I finally book a trackday

also replaced the front drop links due to them shiting them selves

https://scontent-lhr3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xtp1/v/t1.0-9/1424506_10153353130432118_6120758658718274526_n.jp g?oh=84dff5684989906e71d2d7180ec27d69&oe=5659BBA9

right I got a pair of very light omp side mount bucket seats they weigh nothing! £80 for the two seats that retail for over 300 quid each new, admittedly they are rough round the edges but who cares they are going in a 400 quid bmw lol

£625

I had been bodging exhausts in place for a while as my original one snapped and was mega rotten....soon enough I got annoyed of the pops and bangs of a non center box and 4" (then 3") back boxed exhaust and bought a replacement catback system from a local motorfactors for £80

£705

what I didn't know was the fact e36 seats are offset on the runners and never sit right on standard side mounts (will always be to the right of the steering wheel) I bought a set of drivers side runners from driftworks for the handsome price of £75 that had the drivers seat sat nicely

other then the starter falling off (bolts weigh to much to use) the day went really well, the drive home was going really well me and the other half was singing the cars praises for taking a battering and then getting us home..this convv was taking place around 40/50 miles from the track at a guess...as we was leaving the a1 to join the m18 the car started splattering loads of lights came on the dash it was game over and the bigger boys was called to save us

1.5hrs latter a guy showed up that resembled a snuffling pig looking for truffles that clearly stated many facts about how he hated his job and how he couldn't be bothered to be at work and just removed us from the slip road and dumped us at a car park in the middle of no where (hopefully the snorting c*nt chokes on his next pasty comes close to death and realises what real problems are)....

http://i475.photobucket.com/albums/rr119/turbojolt/20151031_163956.jpg (http://s475.photobucket.com/user/turbojolt/media/20151031_163956.jpg.html)

so after being shoved out the way somewhere 2.5 hours later another guy showed up to take us home, guy was a ledgend told me about all the cars he has bult in the past (4x4 p100 2.9 cosy engine, engine conversion'ed omegas and carltons etc..)

Should be much better with some decent track tyres on it! The brakes felt really strong, those 1155s brake pads seemed a good choice.

Fingers crossed the starter being off just stopped it charging then.

I enjoyed my little "spin" out in it, har har.

The car is more prone to understeer then over when pushing hard in the bends

Brakes were faultless. If it ever runs again some 2nd hand semi slicks, suspension and geo mods are next on the list

Went out to fix the bmws annoying knocking exhaust as it's just been sat on the drive untouched for over a month (think I'm bored of it now to be honest) and the passenger seat looked mouldy!!

http://i475.photobucket.com/albums/rr119/turbojolt/20160110_113450.jpg (http://s475.photobucket.com/user/turbojolt/media/20160110_113450.jpg.html)

I'm guessing it's because of water getting in through the holes in the boot lid left from removing the broken rear spoiler so I jammed some grommets in the holes especially with all the recent rain

http://i475.photobucket.com/albums/rr119/turbojolt/20160110_114900.jpg (http://s475.photobucket.com/user/turbojolt/media/20160110_114900.jpg.html)

So hopefully that's a end to the mould :yuck:

So while I was at it I put on the windscreen strip or what ever you want to call it. I sucked at putting it on so hard but hopefully now I won't be blinded every 10 seconds while driving

http://i475.photobucket.com/albums/rr119/turbojolt/20160110_130958.jpg (http://s475.photobucket.com/user/turbojolt/media/20160110_130958.jpg.html)

Think I cut it down to much but it will have to do also mentioned I had to remove my track day stickor  but I just throw it on the tool chest so now my chest is RACE CAR
