My let has decided to start running bad. Went to work in her this morning started from cold missfiring and hunting nearly cutting out. The afr guage is reading off the scale also getting kangarooing when driving. Anyine one shed any light on it. Not had chance to look at it tonight. Thanks in advance.

Swap the fuel pressure relay after that to check fueling, then cts and plugs...

Yeh will do. Cts is new genuine. Will check pump relay know what they are like. Cheers

Been out and removed plugs which are black which says to me its a fuel problem. Seems as its over fueling. Took pump relay off and opened it up looks mint inside no breaks in tracks. Might try a new fuel filter. Hoping its not afm knackered.

imho fuel filter wont change anything.

Does it run a lambda sensor? of so then there could be an exhaust leak before the sensor making it overfuel as it draws fresh air in.

torquey

Yes it does run a lambda sensor gonna change the filter anyways. Will check for a leak in system.

Ignore the afr and plugs, they are merely a by product of another issue. I would guess a sensor down..not sure what your code reading told you? If it didn't throw up anything, then afm?

Same problem with mine at the moment

I've Orded a new lambda and cts

My xe did this turned out to be a dodgy pressure regulator on the fuel rail

My XE did this and it was the wiring to the AFM, it had gone brittle and cracked a couple of the wires near the plug.

Mine has new cts checked wiring to afm its bang on. Will have another look tomorrow running out of options.

Have you had a multimeter on all the loom plugs? to rule out wiring or plug fault. my cts problem turned out to be a corroded plug.

torquey
09-03-15, 04:43 PM
No not yet will give that a go. Checked afm and cts plugs for dodgy wires all good.

Hate to say it but very similar symptoms to what I had, and my turbo was shot and the car was reading full boost all the time so was over fuelling, if you run out of smaller stuff to check might be worth a shot, really hope it's not the turbo for you but :/

blue_peg_16v
12-03-15, 07:03 AM
My turbo is good so not that

torquey
15-03-15, 07:21 PM
Been out today its not the turbo as its only just been rebuilt. Ive wired the choke light so can flash the codes. Do these flashes seem right or i am i reading them wrong ?

With engine running iam getting 505, 212 ,120??? anyone please shed some light on them codes? Cheers

Just been out and flashed it again. Ive got codes 123 which is inlet valve 1 blocked? What is this?? Also got 121 which is lean exhaust/weak mixture? What would cause this? Still got other codes but carnt find what they mean?? Any one help.

Ay ideas??

Gonna try a new lambda sensor.

Yeh got the codes want to know what is the manifold valve 1 blocked and how to resolve it.?

Benn
17-03-15, 01:37 PM
A what?

torquey
17-03-15, 01:43 PM
Tell ne about it benn. According to the topbuzz website with the codes thats what its saying??

Benn
17-03-15, 01:47 PM
Is that what top buzz called the code?

I'd have thought a valve would be a one way valve. But the ecu wouldn't know if one of those is blocked.
Unless it's fuel tank vent valve... Is that plugged in and working?
Hot start valve too, that needs to be plugged in too. Both will show codes if not plugged in. Don't need to be plumbed in tho...

torquey
17-03-15, 01:50 PM
Its in there website aswell as cavalierturbo.com.Both hotstart and fuel tank sensors are plugged in benn but not plumbed in.

Hhhmmm bit odd.

Found a leak where the elbow bolts to the manifold. The turbo was recond last year. The bolts are tight as will go. Would new bolts sort it? Vauxhall no longer sell them.

Benn
25-03-15, 07:45 PM
AutoVaux?

torquey
25-03-15, 08:48 PM
Rang them up no longer available! God knows where to find a set?

torquey
26-03-15, 05:33 PM
Anyone shed anylight on this inlet manifold valve 1 blocked ? Getting me annoyed now.

Benn
26-03-15, 07:15 PM
Take one to come one that sells nuts and bolts. They should be able to match it, or get something close.

No clue on the valve. It needs to be something thats plugged in for the ecu you too it. TPS?

Will do as for this code its got me stumped car aint running the best. Bad idle until warm.

torquey
02-04-15, 07:33 PM
Been out today in car and noticed on the boost guage vac pressure its sat between 22-24 in hg!!. Should be 20 should'nt it! Ive borrowed a vac leak tester and will see if i can find anything. Will check boost pipes again.

torquey
12-04-15, 09:44 AM
Update: tryed a vac leak test nothing! The car is overfueling really bad from cold. Me and me mate went out last night and car was running really lumpy/missing didnt want to rev. Ive discovered a exhaust leak which needs sorting. Engine runs slightly better when warm but something aint right! Doing my head in! Any help would be great.

Where was the exhaust leak?

torquey
12-04-15, 10:13 AM
Just after the flexi.

Just been out took the plugs out and they arnt sooted up now but they have a rusty colour glaze on them on the core and tip. Will get a pic up later. Also removed the injectors gonna clean them out and check they are working.

Any ideas whats the problem?

Scottcooper85
12-04-15, 07:39 PM
Could be an ignition or timing issue looking at the glaze on the plugs mate

torquey
12-04-15, 08:18 PM
Right would explain why it was missing then if it is timing/ignition issue. Ive checked rotor/dizzy but will double check. Also will check the timing again cheers.

12-04-15, 10:02 PM
Wish I'd of check my timing first lol, hope u get sorted

torquey

Thats hope i can sort it really is p!@#$!g me off now.

Today ive had inlet off checked the following

Gaskets
All sensors and wiring
Vac/boost pipes
Timing
Leads
Brake servo pipe/inlet pipe

All seem good no leaks timing spot on.

plugs look good and healthy.

torquey
19-04-15, 05:42 PM
Got mixed opinions on the plugs. People saying running lean other saying healthy.

meritlover
19-04-15, 06:14 PM
Ok,

The truth is, you just cant tell the mixture from a plug. its an indication of extremes.

They are all evenly coloured which is good.

theyre not coked, oily or wet.

theyre not white or glazed.

both of the above can give obscured readings depending on the suitability of the temperature rating of the plug and the condition it has been run in.

presumably you didnt do a plug chop under boost, so these will reflect more the mixture at idle than any on-load condition.

Either way there doesnt seem to be a huge problem and in any case it, wouldnt help you with your diagnosis anyway as a rich or lean condition could be caused by virtually any ECU input misbehaving.

Yeh good shout. Gonna read the codes again make sure i havnt any more. Cheers for your input.
