1.0 nova running lumpy when revving. Over Fuelling?

Hey guys. Just after signing up on here so new to the site

anyways I have a little 1.0 nova which recently had the engine fully rebuilt. It runs pretty smooth but as soon as i Rev it or rev up through the gears it's very stuttery and hesitates to go. Anybody have any problems like this before with one. I'm not a mechanic so not too sure about these things

Air leak somewhere in the intake? Did it get rebuilt from a known working engine and get the same untouched carb etc put back on?

Check the points and ignition timing, then the carb mix, is the idle good?
