Hi Lads,

Have been rebuilding a C20xe and come to put my new timing belt on. Only one problem, on the adjustable pulleys it came with there are no timing marks whatsoever. How can I set the timing? Only idea I have is to find a set of standard pulleys from somewhere and copy the marks over??

Any ideas?

Cheers

From what I have been told the ting mark lines up with the little stub on the cam??

Hmm would that little nob on the cam be accurate enough to not get it a tooth out though?

Gotta be a timing mark to do it surely who made the pulleys

Yeah this bothered me too think they are Kent? Think I will have to find a set of standard pulleys or at least a really good picture of a set of pulleys to be sure :(

Was going to basically copy this?

You could put them against a standard pulley with a bolt through the locating pin and transfer the timing mark over. That should be reliable.

Yeah that's the pic I posted for you gtachorley, it was for reference so you could copy the timing mark onto your cam pulley ...Iain he's cam pulleys only had the adv/ret markings to adjust the timing...I'm sure he has the same cam pulleys as you....just checked, not the same cam pulleys Iain

Yeah I'm sure if he sets 'em to 0 on the adv/ret markings he can transfer over the marking by bolting them together though
